    QUICK, PAINLESS ASSESSMENT

  • Analyze peripheral nerve function and responsiveness of small pain fibers using the most current, sub-sensory methods compared to older standardized testing.

  • Quickly evaluate Sudomotor Autonomic, peripheral and diabetic neuropathies, especially in patients with Diabetes Mellitus.

  • Sudomotor Testing is an innovative, statistically sensitive tool for the detection of reduced neurological function commonly associated with diabetic neuropathy.

  • As sweat glands are innervated by small c-fibers, which are also involved in pain pathways, precise measuring of sweat gland function can identify disease earlier.

  • When compared to non-painful neuropathy, feet dBEC (bio-electrical conductance response) was significantly decreased in patients with painful diabetic neuropathy, strongly suggesting that peripheral autonomic nervous system plays a role in diabetic neuropathy.

  • Results correlated significantly with clinical neuropathy scores, pain scores and measures of autonomic dysfunction.

    WHAT IS INVOLVED

  • Small unmyelinated C-fibers are responsible for the function of sweat glands

  • Sudomotor dysfunction has been established as one of the earliest detectable neurophysiologic abnormalities in distal small fiber neuropathies.

  • As an index of the severity and distribution of automatic failure, quantitative assessment of sweat response serves as an early indicator for the regeneration of small fibers.

  • One of the largest demographics to be affected by neuropathy, diabetic patients have been observed to experience a degeneration of small C-fibers which innervate sweat glands.

  • Measures bio-electrochemical sweat skin conductance (BEC), which is directly connected to the capability of the glands to transfer chloride ions and which correlates with small C-fiber status.

    IN-DEPTH REPORTING

  • Fully interpreted report generated from the software, immediately following assessment.

  • Color-coded, alphabetically graded biomarkers that provide quantitative tracking that is easy to see.

  • Report structure designed to provide an initial summary with a variety of in-depth options to save or print for easy EMR upload.
